Net-Book

Net-book is also known as mini notebook or sub-notebook, which rapidly evolved in the genre of small, light and inexpensive laptop computers. Although a net-book is smaller in size as compared to notebook or laptop it is well equipped and suited for general computing. Through net-books one can benefit from accessing web-based applications and they are also called companion devices because they are highly portable. As compared to laptops, these net-books are much lower in cost, and provide most of the functions available in the regular laptop computers.

One of the disadvantages of the net-books is that they come without a DVD or CD drive. However, this lack can be made up by attaching an external DVD ROM. These net-books are compatible with most operating systems like Linux, Windows and Android. These net-books come with smaller screens and keyboards as compared to the regular laptops and provide users with the benefits of reduced specifications and computing power. They have been introduced in different sizes and types which range from less than 8 inches to more than 13 inches, with weight less than 3 pounds. These net-books have longer battery life, and they are environmental friendly as they require less charging. Their main feature is their elongated battery life and power saving.
